Planning proposals have been submitted to Canterbury City Council by Cossington Road Developments – to transform a former Air Training Corps site in Canterbury into student accommodation.
The new plans follow previous – and similar – plans that were submitted back in 2017. The developer – Urban Start – had two failed attempts to build the PBSA, however hopes the new plans will be more acceptable.

“It is considered that the revised design will no longer result in an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
“The proposals will boost the provision of purpose-built student accommodation in an area of identified need.”
Statement from documents submitted to the council
The scheme will provide 45 one-bedroom student apartments in a two and a half storey building. Cossington Road Developments aim to make the PBSA site ‘car free’, so the proposals only include four car parking spaces – of which two will be disabled parking.
