A new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme – Guilden Park – is on track for completion despite Covid-19 – and is expected to open in 2021. The development in Guildford, Surrey will provide 533 student bedrooms – a mix of studios and en-suites.

All the PBSA rooms will include Samsung air-conditioning with anti-bacterial filters to minimise infections. The scheme will also include the launch of a refreshed room concept – which will create more space in the bedrooms and add a contemporary ‘adult’ touch.

The Guilden Park development will include a generous amount of amenity spaces on the ground and first floor as well as a rooftop sky lounge. There will also be a designed internal courtyard with external amenities.

“There are so many organisations on so many levels that are involved in making an incredible development like this a reality, and they all play a pivotal role in its overall success.”

Tarek Jumah MRICS, Head of PBSA Development, Southern Grove

Future Generation is delivering the Guilden Park scheme in a joint venture with Tadhamon Capital. The contractors are McAleer & Rushe. They are also delivering another two PBSA schemes in Nottingham and Loughborough – both expected for completion in summer 2021. The three projects will create 1,500 PBSA bedrooms totalling £100m worth of construction works.
