Falcon Development’s receives planning for PBSA in Krakow

Falcon Development has received planning permission for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Krakow.

Developer – Falcon Development – has received building permission for a 224 room purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Krakow, located adjacent to the 600th anniversary campus of the Jagiellonian University.

The site – which the company recently acquired – is located in an important position directly adjacent to one of the main universities in Krakow – Jagiellonian University – at its large campus to the south of Krakow city.

Jagiellonian University is one of the largest and highest rated universities in Poland, with more than 40,000 students in Krakow. The site allows ease of access to the university campus, as well as to Krakow’s famous historic old town centre via the direct fast tram just 100m from the property.

“We are very happy to announce this high quality project in my home city of Krakow, a city with a high number of students and a considerable undersupply of PBSA. As we move towards construction, with our tender process for general contractor selection underway, we look forward to delivering a high quality, energetic and vibrant project that will invigorate the local area and provide a new, excellent lifestyle accommodation option for the underserved student market.”

The project will also include fully landscaped spaces to the front and rear of the property – including bicycle parking and electric charging station, as well as a large enclosed garden space for use by residents.

“According to all available research, the Polish student market is very much underserved for both domestic and international students, offering significant opportunities in the student accommodation sector.

“Falcon Development continues to evaluate and secure properties in the main student-cities across the country, and with approximately 1,500 beds in our immediate pipeline – of which we expect to announce up to 1,000 before the end of 2021 – we look forward to delivering high quality lifestyle PBSA facilities across Poland – places where students can learn, play, build life experiences and long-term friendships.”
