Earlier this month, student accommodation provider – Student Roost – officially opened its new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) property in Edinburgh – named Brewers Court, and new studio flats and social spaces at Panmure Court just over the road.
Brewers Court opened in July 2021 and is fully booked for the 2021/22 academic year. The PBSA development is five minutes’ walk from Edinburgh’s Holyrood Campus, and is situated on Carlton Road, a quiet street in the heart of the city centre. The scheme – separated into flats across four floors – is home to 87 students.
Brewers Court features brand-new luxury studio rooms with their own private courtyards. Amenities include a state-of-the-art 24/7 gym and cosy, modern social spaces. Student Roost promises to offer students all the benefits of living in a student house, but with fantastic facilities in your room, a personal en-suite bathroom and added extras through the onsite amenities.
After the long-awaited lifting of Covid-19 restrictions this summer, the first students to live in Brewers Court can enjoy meeting up with friends in one of Brewers Court’s comfy social spaces, set fitness goals in the top-of-the-line 24-hour gym, or take a short walk into central Edinburgh to take in the many sights the city has to offer – such as Edinburgh Castle or the Royal Mile.
Residents at Brewers Court can also benefit from the shared facilities at Panmure Court opposite, which has also had a revamp ahead of the 2021/22 academic year. A vacant retail space has been converted into nine brand new studios and boujie common space. The secure outdoor courtyard has also had a makeover for 2021.
“We’re delighted to officially open Brewers Court and Panmure Court and share details of the amazing facilities. We have almost 5,000 students living with us across Scotland, and it’s been fantastic to welcome more to Edinburgh this year.
“After an incredibly tough 18 months for students, we know they’ve been looking forward to enjoying a return to normality. At Brewers Court or Panmure Court, residents can get a private studio flat, including the opportunity to have a suite with own personal garden area, something which has become a very attractive prospect over the last year and a half. In other Student Roost properties, they can book a whole house with friends, or ask us to match them with other students to make new friendships.
“The residents at Brewers Court and Panmure Court are able to enjoy all the benefits of a house but so much more – fantastic rooms and facilities, an amazing city centre location right next to the University of Edinburgh, as well as the Holyrood Campus and the Edinburgh College of Art.”John Stevenson, Regional Operations Manager, Student Roost
Birmingham-based Student Roost manages two other properties in Edinburgh – Lady Nicholson, a two-minute walk to the University of Edinburgh, and Portsburgh Court, a stone’s throw from the Holyrood Campus and the Edinburgh College of Art.
Student Roost provides over 8,000 student houses across over 50 properties in 20 different university cities across the UK. In total, over 20,000 residents make a Student Roost house their home during their studies.
The company has supported its residents throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring its properties are safe and welcoming – and by offering online social events and an app to help residents chat with others in their building. In both 2019/20 and 2020/21 the company was one of the first to offer financial support to residents who could not return to their properties because of lockdown measures.
Student Roost offer students virtual tours as well as Covid safe in person viewings. Prices for the studio flats at Brewers Court, which are sold out for 2021/22, range from £279 a week for a ‘silver’ to £299 for a spacious and bright private ‘platinum’. Brewers Court also has unique ‘garden studio’ flats from £275 a week, which come with their own private courtyard.
At Panmure Court, which is also fully booked in 2021/22, prices for Bronze, Silver and Gold studios range between £259 and £269 a week.
Prices include all heating, water and electricity bills, superfast wifi and insurance. Residents can choose to pay monthly, termly or annually, and if they select the termly option, rent isn’t taken until after the student loan dates.
