Proptech company – HeyHub – partners with Uliving to transform the student experience at the University of Brighton. As the seventh-largest provider of student accommodation in the UK, Uliving provides purpose-built, high quality and excellent service from development through to building management, overseeing over 8,500 beds across the University of Brighton, Essex, Hertfordshire and Gloucestershire.
In early 2022, The Moulsecoomb campus underwent major developments, as a new quintet of resident halls took to the Brighton skyline. Providing homes to over 800 students, the five Mithras Halls towers – named Brunswick, Goldstone, Hanover, Preston and Regency – form part of a bigger masterplan to create a futuristic new neighbourhood, complemented by the adjacent Preston Barracks development.
Together, both developments will create a new gateway to the thriving city and breathe new life into the local community. For students entering the new academic year, they will benefit from the partnership between Uliving and HeyHub – experiencing first-class accommodation while feeling part of a unified community.
“We’re utilising the HeyHub app at Mithras Halls of Residence at the University of Brighton to ensure smooth running of the site, so students stay connected with their flatmates, see campus events, and easily access site services; from receiving package delivery notifications to contacting reception and the Helpdesk team.”

As an integral part of the Uliving launch strategy for its new developments, the HeyHub partnership entails creating a digital community, connecting students across the five halls through an all-encompassing student platform. Acting as the gateway to connect staff and students, this creates a centralised community while enabling students to leverage the onsite facilities via their phones.

The white-labelled platform is tailored to accommodate the five halls and the services and amenities available. Students can book or reserve communal spaces, contact the relevant helpdesks to make enquiries, report maintenance issues to staff, receive parcel delivery notifications and more.
As well as enabling students to digitally access the onsite services from their phones, HeyHub will also provide students with an outlet to discover and connect with other like-minded students. Through HeyHub’s unique technology stack, it offers an innovative way for students to build lasting connections and develop a digital ecosystem. Implementing geofencing technology and interest-based matching, students gather into micro-communities based on location and common interests. This ensures that the connections made are based on mutual value or commonality – heightening the student experience.
“Assimilating into university life can be daunting for most students, as it’s most likely their first home away from home. Our products provide students with the fundamental tools to feel part of a unified community and helps them develop real connections with like-minded people based on shared interests. We are honoured to partner with Uliving to help create unique experiences for students, which will be the cornerstone of their university life.”
