We’re thrilled to announce that Sean Ashton has joined the PBSA News and BTR News board as a Non-Executive Director. Sean has over 25 years’ experience developing, managing and growing UK businesses into industry leading and award-winning enterprises, most recently in the fire safety and security sectors.

Sean has extensive experience in the construction and maintenance environment for some of the UK’s most prestigious and renowned buildings. As an early adopter in meaningful ESG strategies to effect change, Sean has successfully implemented carbon emission reduction programmes, enabling and achieving carbon neutral status for long term objectives to reduce CO2 emissions year on year.

“I’m delighted to be joining Nick, Bea and the PBSA News and BTR News teams in these fast growing and exciting industry sectors. Both businesses are industry leaders and highly respected for the news and content they deliver. As the purpose-built student accommodation and Build to Rent sectors continue to evolve, there is increased demand for knowledge and high-quality content, delivered with poise and refinement.

“Our ethics and values are closely aligned with a culture of respect and inclusivity which helps to create a great place to work and results in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

“My support will assist these platforms to continue to flourish, reaching more readers with new, factual content and importantly in our busy lives, very specific to what the reader is interested in.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience in construction, engineering and building management services, working with the board to grow the businesses both geographically and with new content specialist areas, and the addition of future new platforms.”

“I’m also keen to meet some of our sponsors and partners. The PBSA News and BTR News teams work collaboratively with sponsors and partners to drive growth and awareness for their brands, with cross platform opportunities providing significant exposure and new opportunities.

Sean Ashton, Non-Executive Director, BTR News and PBSA News

BTR News was founded in early 2020 as a publication dedicated to the Build to Rent sector. Founded by Nick Biring and Bea Patel, the publication’s mission is to provide an open publication for news, information, insights, research and more, promoting and encouraging collaboration as the sector continues to evolve.

Following the success of BTR News, PBSA News was founded in mid 2020 as a publication dedicated to the purpose-built student accommodation sector – holding the same mission as its sister site. The goal for both publications has been to deliver first class, high quality and reliable content whilst implementing efficient and best practice business development.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Sean to our board. His long standing experience in developing and growing businesses, his industry experience, and his ethics are invaluable as we continue to evolve both B2B platforms for the communities of these two sectors.

“Sean’s experience, combined with our entrepreneurial energy, openness and commitment will enhance the business as it continues to evolve and expand, whilst maintaining its deep rooted values and ethics.”
