Student accommodation provider Student Roost opens Deakins Place – its fifth property in Nottingham – which forms part of the Nottingham Student Quarter alongside its existing purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme, Nottingham Two. Earlier this year, Student Roost released new images of Deakins Place and CGI’s of the new lounge and study spaces at Nottingham Two.
Fully booked for the 2022/23 academic year, Deakins Place is a five-minute walk from the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus – and has local transport links for residents studying at Nottingham Trent University.
Deakins Place offers studio and ensuite rooms for 703 students, as well as a gym and yoga studio, communal lounge and multimedia lounge, all free for residents to use. Residents at the neighbouring Nottingham Two property can also use these spaces, and Deakins Place residents can access the new social spaces at Nottingham Two, which were developed earlier this summer.

The property also has a hosting kitchen, which can be booked by students to practice their cooking skills or to host friends. Cooking events will also be hosted by the property team throughout the year. At other Student Roost properties across the UK, hosting kitchens have been used for collaborations with local businesses to run free cooking classes for residents.
All bills, including broadband, gas, electric, and water, are included in the rent price of each room, with the intention that students will not have to face rising energy and broadband costs this winter.
Student Roost is the third largest student accommodation provider in the UK, with over 50 properties in 22 cities across the country, including Nottingham, Belfast, Edinburgh and Swansea. Each year 23,000 students reside in Student Roost properties.

Deakins Place is one of four new Student Roost properties to open in 2022. In time for the start of the 2022/23 academic year, Student Roost opened Frederick House in York and Hillfort House in Brighton, as well as its first co-living development in Bristol. A further 680 beds were also added to its Warwick property The Oaks.
“The opening of Deakins Place and the creation of the Nottingham Student Quarter has been a pivotal moment for the Nottingham student market. It’s fantastic to see the doors opened and residents moving in at our fifth Nottingham property, which has been in the works since 2020.
“With Nottingham Two by its side, Deakins Place will become a firm favourite with students studying in the city, and the Nottingham Student Quarter will be at the forefront of long-lasting friendships, collaborations, and community amongst our residents.”
