Kajima appoints new London based Project Director

Real asset investor, developer and manager Kajima appoints Philip McLaughlin as the new Project Director within its London based team.

Philip McLaughlin has been appointed as Kajima's Project Director.

Philip has joined Kajima after his successful 13-year career at Bloomberg. He will be directly responsible for overseeing the delivery of Kajima’s development projects.

Before Bloomberg, Philip spent seven years at Stace LLP working across a range of sectors including Corporate Real Estate, Retail, Hotel and Leisure.

Kajima’s central London portfolio includes the upcoming development of Orwell House in the West End, and the redevelopment of the 80,000 sq ft workspace at Coleman Street.

Last month, the team started work on Kajima’s first ‘Cat A +’ refurbishment of a boutique office space Grove House in Marylebone.

The hiring of Philip will bolster Kajima’s development and asset management business, which currently has £10bn assets under management.

In addition to managing the company’s central London development pipeline, he will also oversee the construction of developments across the business’ European portfolio, focusing on purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and logistics.

With his extensive experience in project management, Philip delivered projects in over 15 European locations and worked on Bloomberg’s landmark £1bn RIBA Stirling Prize-winning European headquarters in the City of London.

Kajima’s expanding European portfolio consists of a range of real estate developments across key sites in Poland – where the company are the most prominent PBSA developer – alongside Germany, France, Spain and the Netherlands.
