For the property industry, the Youth Forum by TPMS provides unrivalled access to the opinions and customer insights that matter, across student accommodation, homes and lifestyle.
This research can be used to influence the design and services within purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), co-living, Build to Rent and university accommodation.
“As product marketers we want to continually push the sector forward to be better – which is why we ensure we make our insights as accessible as possible. We can’t do that without the support of our partners and sponsors, so we are delighted to have Dig-in and The Crowd Agency working with us again this year. As they are valuable agencies working within the student population, they recognise the importance of gaining insight first-hand to influence the outcome of products that impact them directly. Some of the results from last year were fascinating and not always expected so we are keen to challenge assumptions about Gen Z once again.”

Working with partner Dig-In, the TPMS team will survey an independent database on key topics that matter in property and life – which is then followed up in dedicated focus groups delving deeper into what was learned in the surveys.
This bespoke approach is summarised into insight papers, which are free for the sector to access and utilise.
“Dig-In are proud to have partnered with The TPMS on the Youth Forum for the second year in a row. Since the inception of the Youth Forum, the insight and knowledge gained has been of real value to Dig-In and to its university and commercial partners, enabling Dig-In and its stakeholders to continue to improve and be proactive to the student market.”
Greg Hutley, Dig-In
During 2021 and 2022, TPMS successfully launched the Youth Forum events to add value and insight into the property industry, after research revealed 80% of marketers don’t feel their organisation involves the customers in decisions regarding product (The Property Marketing Strategists, The Property Marketing Survey 2021).
Since then, over 3,000 young people have been involved in the Youth Forum surveys and focus group sessions.
The topics unveiled some of the key topics that Gen Z people are passionate about, including sustainability, community and the role of technology in the home.
“We’re delighted to again be supporting TPMS with the Youth Forum. We share the same sense of purpose as we strive to consistently raise the bar in the world of student marketing. Putting the students at the heart of our campaigns is crucial, so we are so pleased to play a small part in better understanding those student viewpoints.”
David Cook, The Crowd Agency
The first topic to be tackled in 2023 is the current Cost of Living, with a survey and focus groups planned to be launched in May; the initial insight from this will be shared at the LD Events Student Housing Conference.
