The £29.6m Ilderton Road scheme, which contains 250 beds, 58 affordable residential units and 12,500 sq ft of commercial space over the ground and first floors, is the first of Your Tribe’s student developments to reach this point; having received funding from Investec earlier in the year.
Your Tribe held a topping out ceremony to celebrate the milestone at South Bermondsey-based Ilderton Road, which was held on the roof of one of the new student apartment blocks and marked by the presentation of an engraved silver trowel by HG Construction.

Those in attendance were Adam Quinn, Chief Executive Officer of HG Construction, Laurence Quail, Managing Director of Your Tribe, John Clarke, Chairman of Your Tribe, and Duncan Palmer, Director of Student Housing at Your Tribe.
Adam, Laurence, John and Duncan were joined by other employees heavily involved in the development of the site – such as Russell Groves, Senior Project Manager at HG Construction and his team.
At the ceremony, one studio and one cluster show apartment, both with en-suite bathrooms alongside a communal kitchen were featured.

Each apartment has a large desk area with room for both eating and working. The communal kitchen for the cluster apartment is spacious, with a large dining table, kitchen work surfaces and cupboards on either side, with two large windows creating a very sociable space for students.
Additional communal areas and study spaces will be provided as part of the development, and will encompass generous living spaces, offering residents a great environment to unwind and engage socially.

Furthermore, there will be a collaborative study and presentation space, a gym with a dedicated yoga and wellness room, and a specially designated gaming room, and standard facilities such as a laundry room and bike storage.
The development is expected to be fully complete for the 2024/2025 academic year.
