Property investor and developer SAV Group has appointed renowned barristers Charles Banner KC as Non-Executive Director and Christopher Lockhart-Mummery KC as Business Advisor, as a reflection of the company’s purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) expertise.
Christopher Lockhart-Mummery KC and Charles Banner KC have joined SAV Group with specialist knowledge and vast experience in planning and strategic development.
The company has evolved from a small property developer financed by private family offices, to a well-recognised real estate investor. The SAV Group has circa £250m assets under management as of June this year.
Since launching in 2014, the SAV Group’s presence in the PBSA sector showcases the progression the company has made.

Christopher Lockhart-Mummery KC is a former Deputy High Court Judge with a career spanning 50 years.
In recent years, he has focused his expertise on planning work in both the public and private sectors, representing clients in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court and Planning Inquiries.
Christopher was called to the Bar in 1971, took silk in 1986, and served as Head of Chambers at 4 Breams Buildings and later at Landmark. He retired from full time practice at the Bar in 2022.
Charles Banner KC is a leading barrister in commercial development and planning disputes and is a RICS Standards and Regulations Board member.
Alongside his part-time role at Oxford University as a lecturer in law, Charles hosts the ‘Have We Got Planning News for You’ online commentary series.
Charles will continue his full-time practise at Keatings Chambers alongside his newly appointed role.
