Prefect Controls is delighted to announce its association with PBSA News. The perfect fit for a company that has been working with student accommodation providers since 1997.
Our goal is to design and make clever, but simple energy controls that fulfil the commercial needs of building operators, whilst also providing fixed control access for residents. With climate challenges and in the midst of a cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever to ensure we move towards a greener planet.
Our partnership with environmentally conscious, Carbon Neutral Plus company PBSA News will support Prefect Controls in reaching a wider audience, in support of sharing a common goal of reducing energy consumption, driving innovation and fostering a collaborative approach.
“PBSA News has become the go-to publication for industry professionals across the PBSA sector, and this cooperative venture supports its efforts in sharing expert insights into saving energy. We are very proud of this association.”
Adrian Barber, Marketing Manager, Prefect Controls
With aligned values and a shared approach, this collaboration will help to inform building owners of available technologies to help their understanding of energy consumption, and how they can minimise waste and work towards their net-zero targets.
Prefect’s Managing Director has seen many changes in the last 26 years.
“Back then, we recognised a need for the control of energy use by occupants, who aren’t directly responsible for paying the heating bills. Of course, student accommodation has changed considerably, but now, more than ever, it’s imperative that energy isn’t used unnecessarily.
“Our systems are always striving to drive down heat input, while maintaining comfortable rooms. As the demands for energy efficiency, comfort and safety in student accommodation have grown, so has our offering, with water heating control, leak detection, and kitchen hob safety being just some of the equipment we have recently developed.
“The student room market is tremendously competitive, and every kilowatt saved adds to the bottom line. But it’s our collective responsibility to minimise the wastage of energy. It makes sense for our planet, our environment, but ultimately, it’s just good business sense.”
Glen Golding, Managing Director, Prefect Controls
Linking up with PBSA News coincides with Prefect adding a milestone control unit to the Irus Portal, its flagship system. Irus now numbers 50,000 control units across 100 sites.
“PBSA News is delighted to partner with Prefect Controls. Their knowledge and experience in efficient energy management, working with PBSA operators and universities from across the country, makes them a perfect fit or our audience. As we strive ahead in our own sustainability journey, we’re proud to partner with a company that supports the sector in transitioning into a greener world.”
