Moorfield Group, a UK-focused real estate investment manager has appointed a new Head of Origination – Chris Perera – who joined the firm in 2013 and was previously a Senior Investment Manager.
Chris will head up the management of the Origination Team, whilst also continuing to source transactions and sector partnerships.
“Having been instrumental to Moorfield’s success over the last decade, Chris will play a critical role in our ongoing growth in his new role as head of origination, working closely with our sources of new opportunity and existing relationships to cement our market-leading position across a range of emerging and exciting sectors.”Charles Ferguson-Davie, Chief Investment Officer, Moorfield Group
Chris will work across all asset classes including purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), but his main focus will be on the origination of new opportunities in the logistics and storage sectors. Pablo Hutchinson, Investment Associate who joined Moorfield’s Origination Team four years ago will lead on the origination of student accommodation and residential strategies.
“It is an exciting time to be stepping into this role. The current market dislocation creates an opportune buying moment for value-add managers like us, while our target asset classes are all underpinned by demographic and structural growth drivers that will persist across market cycles. Far from sitting on the side lines, we remain acquisitive and are confident on the outlook for UK real estate.”Chris Perera, Head of Origination, Moorfield Group
Moorfield has been an early entrant into many sectors including PBSA, Build to Rent, single-family homes, student houses of multiple occupation, retirement villages and nursing homes sectors, as well as the storage sectors – logistics, self-storage and open-storage. Moorfield’s recent activities include the completion of its 282-bed Enso PBSA scheme.
