Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) operator Nurtur Student Living launches a fully funded wellbeing service that offers residents access to a free course of counselling with their newly appointed in-house therapist, Bryn Powell.
Bryn is a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. He is accustomed to dealing with issues including anxiety, depression and stress – topics often highlighted alongside student life.
Students can self-refer themselves to the Nurtur Student Living team via a dedicated inbox, initiating their interest in enrolling in a free course of counselling funded entirely by the company.
According to recent findings from Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity, 30% of students surveyed said their mental health had got worse since starting university. Most alarmingly, one in four students surveyed said they wouldn’t know where to go to get mental health support at university should they needed it.
Focused on a holistic approach to student wellbeing, Nurtur Student Living recognises the need for responsible signposting from accommodation providers to all available services. The Nurtur Student Living wellbeing service was born to help bridge the gap between these two key elements of student life.
The PBSA operator hopes this is a leading step for the industry in nurturing the lives of students studying in the UK.
