A decade ago, Vita Student launched with the mission to ‘re-invent student accommodation, putting the needs of the students first, providing them with a platform to begin big’. A decade on, the brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary and launched its Beyond Ambition campaign.
Since launching Vita Student in 2013 with 358 beds in Liverpool, the company has continued to enjoy rapid growth, opening new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) schemes in each of the major Russell Group university cities. Last month, Vita Student also opened the doors to its 10,000th bed, with new schemes opening in Belfast, Edinburgh, and Coventry for the 2023/24 academic year.
Along the way, the business has celebrated success on several occasions – completing deals with major institutions including the sale of Vita Student Lewisham Exchange to AXA IM, a deal which saw Mapletree purchase four of Vita’s PBSA assets, and a £600m acquisition of eight Vita Student assets by DWS in 2019, totalling over £1bn.
Now, as the company enters its 10th year of inspiring residents to ‘begin big’, the brand has launched its 10th anniversary campaign – Beyond Ambition. Celebrating with past and present residents, the Beyond Ambition campaign kicked off with a ten-year alumni re-union event at Vita Student Circle Square.
The glitzy event was an opportunity to inspire the next generation of residents that ambition never ceases, and that they can achieve anything they put their mind to. The evening also included inspiring talks from former residents who’ve gone on to do incredible things, as well as other titans of industry.
The Beyond Ambition website features some inspiring resident stories – from elite athletes to top-level executives – brought to life through words and film. Throughout the year, Vita Student will continue to celebrate this milestone with ten Beyond Ambition life-changing competition prizes for residents to win – everything from a business start-up kit to a year’s free rent.
There’s also a jam-packed roster of Beyond Ambition resident events, tailored to help residents maximise their success. Some events include CV writing workshops, big talks, resilience and mental wellbeing workshops.
“Over the last decade, Vita Student has surpassed expectations, creating a true, branded, residential living experience for students. Now as the business celebrates its 10th anniversary, the future of the brand, and the opportunities which lie ahead which capture me – a chance to go beyond ambition. It’s this thought, this sentiment which we aim to instil and inspire our residents and our colleagues with as we look ahead to what could be achieved together over the next decade.”
