With a wealth of experience from the student accommodation and higher education sectors, David’s appointment aligns perfectly with QX’s vision for pioneering Business Process Management and Finance Transformation offerings in the PBSA market.

“I am thrilled to join QX Global Group and contribute to its strategic growth. The PBSA sector is dynamic and full of potential, and I look forward to helping QX Global Group tap into these opportunities. The chance to apply my experience in a new capacity, advising this rapidly expanding business, is incredibly exciting.”

Starting his career journey at the British Council in the 1980s, David has subsequently held key positions within the student accommodation sector at notable academic institutions – including Regents, Goldsmiths, SOAS, and UCLan – before an eight-year role change at LSE as Director of Residential Services, with oversight of all non-academic commercial activity. He repositioned the school’s residential offering significantly, growing its beds through innovative off-balance sheet solutions.

“I am delighted that David is joining QX as a Strategic Advisor to the Board. QX has a long and proud track record in the PBSA sector, and we’ve partnered with top players in the UK and US for numerous years. David’s extensive leadership experience and proven track record in student accommodation will be instrumental in guiding our strategic direction and enhancing our offerings in the PBSA market.”

In 2008, David left the higher education sector to join iQ Student Accommodation, in which he remained for 14 years. His time at iQ saw him progress to Chief Operating Officer and finally Commercial Director before stepping back as a Strategic Advisor following the company’s acquisition by Blackstone for £4.7bn in 2020.

David’s time at iQ Student Accommodation was characterised by his significant contributions in enhancing service quality, expanding the student accommodation portfolio, and implementing business strategies, all of which underscore his comprehensive expertise and leadership within the sector.

“Welcoming David to our team marks a transformative moment in our journey. His vast experience, gained from years of leading roles in the sector, will significantly enhance our capabilities, offering our clients in the PBSA sector more efficient and finely tuned solutions.”
