Growth

Following her appointment in mid-May, Tracey is already showing the value of her customer-centric approach. Her focus at CompassRock will be on overseeing the company’s operations as it continues its current period of growth.

She joins the CompassRock International team from Cortland, where she served as Chief Operating Officer – Europe. During her 20-year property career, she has also held roles at JLL, the Howard de Walden Estate and Grainger.

CompassRock International provides asset management and property management services to the rental housing sectors globally – including student accommodation.

The firm was founded in 2011 when David Woodward partnered with private equity firm Fortress to create an affiliated asset management and property management firm.

“Having known Tracey for many years and observed her outstanding impact in the real estate sector, I am delighted to welcome her to the CompassRock International team. Tracey’s appointment further strengthens and expands our offering at this exciting time for the residential sector. She brings a strategic mindset and residential property investment and asset management expertise that will prove invaluable to CompassRock clients.”

The CompassRock team provides an unparalleled level of hands-on and real-world experience from the US, UK and other international markets. Just one example includes CompassRock’s involvement with Stuyvesant Town in New York City.

CompassRock managed and repositioned this property, the largest multifamily property in the US with over 11,000 units and 25,000 residents. CompassRock’s engagement culminated in a sale to Blackstone for $5.4bn in 2015 – the largest single-asset real estate transaction in US history.

Recently iQ and Blackstone acquired two PBSA assets. Blackstone acquired iQ in May 2020 for £4.7bn. It was the largest ever private real estate transaction in the UK at that time.
