Collegiate UK, a provider of purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) across 21 cities in the UK, has underlined its commitment to student and employee welfare by investing in Mental Health First Aid training for all its general managers.

In a proactive move to address the mental health needs of its student residents and support its growing number of employees, Collegiate UK staff members participated in a comprehensive Mental Health First Aid course facilitated by MHFA England.

The training aims to equip general managers across Collegiate UK’s student accommodation schemes with the necessary skills to recognise mental health challenges among residents.

As part of the Collegiate’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive community environment, this course will be rolled out to all general managers. Eventually, each site will have at least one trained individual capable of providing mental health guidance and support.

The decision to provide mental health support is a further indication of Collegiate UK’s commitment to boosting mental health provisions for its employees and student residents.

The company already has strategic partnerships with ‘Health Assured’ and ‘Student Minds’. This service offers students round-the-clock access to mental health resources and counselling services.

This hands-on approach ensures that students have access to the support they need, whenever they need it. This should foster a safe and nurturing living environment conducive to academic success and personal wellbeing.

“The physical and mental wellbeing of our employees and residents is of paramount importance. This training and investment further illustrates our commitment to providing access to the right levels of support, whenever or wherever needed.”

Neil Burton, Managing Director of Collegiate UK

The company also recently announced the appointment of Michael Lau as Head of Projects, to enhance the company’s operating capabilities and to deliver its next phase of growth.
