Maccreanor Lavington secures planning for a 33-storey London purpose-built development scheme (PBSA) from the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). The new scheme will be situated in North Acton, west London.

The scheme also includes a nine-storey building containing affordable homes and commercial use. In total, the development will deliver 888 PBSA studios alongside amenities and teaching spaces.

Several industrial buildings will be demolished to make way for the new development.

Additionally, the scheme provides significant greening and public realm improvements and a public benefits package which features upgraded active travel connections to North Acton.

“The project would revitalise the area with urban street frontages and upgraded active travel connections, addressing both student and affordable housing needs”.

Objectors to the scheme included the Old Oak Neighbourhood Forum, who opposed the plans on several grounds including the height of the buildings.

However, planning officers said that the 33-storey building was within an area considered appropriate for tall buildings, while the nine-storey building fell outside of the definition of a tall building.
