The Douglas Street project will feature modern amenities, sustainable design and spacious communal areas, catering to the needs of today’s students. Once completed, the development will offer 98 studios, promoting a vibrant and inclusive community.

The topping out ceremony was attended by Councillor Steven Rome, Dundee City Council Convener of Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure with James Williamson, Development Officer (Tourism, Marketing & Investment).

“Today marks an important step forward for our Douglas Street project.

“We are proud to contribute to Dundee’s growth and to create a welcoming environment for students. We thank everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in bringing this vision to life.”

The topping out event celebrated the structural completion of the building and highlighted CHAP Group’s commitment to enhancing the local landscape and providing high-quality living spaces for students.

The Douglas Street PBSA development is on track for completion in time for the 2025 student intake, making it a valuable addition to the city’s educational infrastructure.

“I am impressed to see how work on this important development for the city has advanced. We are keen to ensure that Dundee continues to be an attractive place for students to come and study. Projects like this also provide a boost for local companies and help to deliver our vision of community wealth building.
