Fusion Group has promoted André Ferdinand to Projects Director and has appointed him to its board. Additionally, Kate Stephenson has joined the firm as Associate Project Director to support project delivery, further strengthening the construction team and driving forward the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Since joining Fusion in 2022, André has been integral in starting construction on major purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) projects in Nottingham, Liverpool and Manchester, totalling over 1,400 beds and led efforts to secure planning consent for developments in London and Loughborough providing a further 1,100 beds and 78 affordable homes.

In his expanded role, André will lead efforts to deliver Fusion’s ambitious pipeline and foster deeper partnerships across the supply chain to support future growth in co-living and other living sectors.

Kate joins Fusion Group as a senior hire, bringing over 17 years of experience in the real estate industry. She has delivered high-value projects across the UK and US, holding key roles in both project and development management.

Most recently Senior Development Project Manager at Canary Wharf Group, Kate has a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams, managing complex developments, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships to deliver results in fast-paced environments. Her expertise will be instrumental in the successful delivery of Fusion’s current projects and expanding pipeline.

Kate joins André and Group Construction Director Paul Miles in the construction team, where she will help drive projects forward and contribute to the continued growth of Fusion’s development programme.

“Kate brings a wealth of experience and a hands-on approach from her time at Canary Wharf Group, Opera and Turner & Townsend, and we’re excited to have her join the construction team alongside André and myself. Her insight and technical knowledge will be a real asset as we focus on delivering our upcoming projects across the country.

“With André stepping into his new role as Projects Director and promotion to the board, we’re building a team with the depth and capability to deliver Fusion’s ambitious pipeline with consistency, efficiency and the technical strength our projects demand.”

As Fusion accelerates towards its goal of delivering 11,500 beds by 2031, investing in experienced project delivery professionals ensures it can meet growing demand while maintaining executional excellence. These appointments reflect both the scale and momentum of Fusion’s growth, as well as the steps being taken to future-proof its delivery capabilities.
