Last month, Torsion Group, a privately owned independent company offering a solutions-focused approach to developing, constructing, and operating purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) schemes, celebrated the opening of the Redgate PBSA development in Nottingham, East Midlands following the scheme nearing completion in July.
Redgate has achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and Fitwel 3-star certification, focusing on creating spaces that promote the physical and mental health of residents.
With multi-functional amenity spaces, including two outdoor courtyards, students benefit from an environment designed to encourage friendships and create lasting memories.
“We’re proud to celebrate the opening of Redgate, our 297-bed student accommodation development in Nottingham. This project is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our incredible team, with students already settling into their new homes.

“Redgate not only honours Nottingham’s heritage, but also represents our commitment to sustainability and student wellbeing. The name “Redgate” pays tribute to the area’s history, once home to a manufacturer of alcohol on Traffic Street. Now, it’s a space reimagined for students to enjoy, fostering community and connection.”
Torison Group have incorporated innovative energy-saving measures, allowing both operator Mezzino and students to track energy usage, alongside PIR sensors and high-spec panel heaters to reduce unnecessary consumption.
They have expanded across the North and Midlands regions employing over one hundred experienced and empowered staff.
“A huge thank you to our partner Harrison Street and everyone involved in bringing this fantastic project to life. We’re excited to see Redgate become a vibrant home for students for many years to come.”
