UPP appoints Chief Investment Officer from internal team

Hiring internally, UPP has appointed a new Chief Investment Officer to lead on business development, asset finance and investment management.

UPP, the leading UK on-campus student accommodation provider, has appointed Simon Boorne to the position of Chief Investment Officer. He will lead on business development, asset finance and investment management.

Simon, a Chartered Accountant, joined the business in 2013. He has driven major growth for UPP, having been instrumental in achieving financial close on multiple schemes and has structured and executed transactions worth over £1bn.

In May, UPP was selected as the Preferred Bidder to develop, in partnership with Durham University, a detailed scheme proposition for the refurbishment of the College of St Hild and St Bede and the development of new college accommodation at the Leazes Road site.
