McAleer & Rushe achieves outstanding CSS score for Vita’s Gough Street PBSA

McAleer & Rushe has achieved full marks in their recent Considerate Constructors Scheme audit, alongside two additional best practice points. The Vita Student Gough Street development achieved an outstanding CCS score of 47.

The purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development will comprise 540 high-quality VITA studio apartments across two blocks spanning ten and 29 storeys.

The student residences will be complimented with ample communal amenity spaces including private dining rooms, a gym and basketball court, co-study spaces, social hub and games rooms.

Designed to achieve a BREAAM Very Good rating, the Vita Student Gough Street building will also provide over 200 cycling parking spaces, along with outdoor terraces and a rooftop outdoor area on Level 29. A roof terrace on level ten will include a bio-green roof garden with wildflower beds, crushed stone piles and stacked tree stems to encourage wildlife habitat creation.

Located on Gough Street, Suffolk Street Queensway in the heart of Birmingham city centre, the development is within walking distance of New Street rail station, Mail Box and Cube.
