Gilltown has selected Winvic Construction to build its new Progress House purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Coventry.
The project will deliver 544 bedrooms and aims to meet sustainability standards. It will also have en-suite bedrooms and additional outdoor recreational facilities such as a sports area and petanque court.
The six-storey development will feature a commercial unit on the ground floor, catering to both students and the local community. The scheme will offer a range of amenities, including a gym, fitness studio, dinner party room, cinema, study rooms, games lounge and garden lounge.
The scheme is scheduled for completion in mid-2027, in time for the 2027-28 academic year.
“Coventry has a significant and vibrant student community at Westwood Business Park, with students choosing it for its location and social and academic facilities. Progress House will sit at the heart of this community, giving students a high-spec, sustainable and well-connected place to call home.
“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Gilltown to deliver high-quality accommodation and create a positive legacy in this student community.”
Mark Jones, Multi-room Managing Director, Winvic Construction
Winvic is focusing on sustainability and, in addition to the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Excellent rating, the Progress House project will pursue a WiredScore Platinum certification.
The company’s partnership with Gilltown and Coventry City Council is expected to also offer local employment, training, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities.
